In Loving Memory of John Winfred Roan, Jr.

John Roan, our dear cousin, passed away May 1, 2023 in San Francisco, CA. He was a loving husband and doting father and grandfather.

He loved to visit the casinos and try his luck! Always pleasant and easy to going, he could also be a fierce Bid Whist player! We loved him and will miss him.


 

In Loving Memory of Joseph Lamar Harris

Joseph Lamar Harris passed away November 24, 2021 in Los Angeeles, CA after a brief illness.

He was one of the kindest and most loving individuals you could ever meet. Generous and kind almost to a fault--that was Joe.

He was a much loved brother and cousin. He was also the loving father of David Brandon Harris of Portland, OR.

 

In Loving Memory of Our Dear EULA STARR CALVERT

Eula Calvert, the dear Matriarch of the family, passed away on February 25, 2021 in Compton, California. She died in her sleep at 90 years old. She was beloved by all and was one of the sweetest individuals you will ever meet. 

She suffered the loss of her last sibling just one month prior. This year has been full of challenges and we all look forward to meeting again in-person soon.

Opal Starr 1923 - 2012

 

The 2011 reunion in Los Angeles was in part a celebration of the 90th birthday for our beloved Aunt Opal. 

 

She was frail and became ill during the reunion weekend.  Aunt Opal departed this life in June of 2012.  She was beloved by all.  Her legacy is one of love for her family and friends, of caring and of sharing.  We are grateful for her life and the time we shared with her.  Those we love never leave us, but live on in our hearts.
